CITY OF FORT STOCKTON GENERAL ELECTION

The City Secretary serves as the Elections Administrator for the City. Currently the City of Fort Stockton contracts with the Pecos County Clerk's Office for administration and coordination of any General or Special City Elections.

In early 2023, the City of Fort Stockton will call a General Election to be held on May 6, 2023 for the purpose of electing a Mayor and two City Council Members, designated as Places 1 and 2. The Mayor's and Council Member's terms are for a period of three years.

An informational candidate packet for those who may be interested in learning more about running for City Council can be found here or picked up at City Hall (121 W. Second Street, City Secretary’s Office) when the filing period begins.  The period for submitting an application to the City Secretary's Office for a place on the May 6, 2023 ballot runs from Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023 at 8 a.m. through Friday, Feb. 17, 2023 at 5 p.m.

It is anticipated that the City of Fort Stockton’s General Election will again be administered by the Pecos County Clerk's Office. Early voting is scheduled for Monday, April 24, 2023 through Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Election Day voting will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Specific information concerning polling locations and early voting times will be made available on the City of Fort Stockton website and on the Pecos County website as soon as those details become available.

Applications for ballots by mail must be requested from and mailed to the Pecos County Clerk's Office and received no later than the close of business on April 25, 2023. The address is 200 S. Nelson, Fort Stockton, Texas 79735.
